5th Grade Prayer Card Contest 2007

This year's Prayer Card contest turned out to be another challenging year for the judges.  With both religious education classes and schools participating, the judges found it difficult to pick only the top three cards out of all the creative entries.

The First-place winner is Evie Hoff from St. John’s School in Westminster.  She received $100 and had her design and prayer printed on 10,000 prayer cards to be distributed by the Vocation Office.  Second place went to Cecilia Rossi of St. Michael’s in Frostburg, who received $50. Andrea Johnson, of the Mother Mary Lange School, took third place and was awarded $25.Please contact the Vocation Office if you would like copies of the prayer card.

Congratulations to all of our participants and to the Serra Club of Baltimore for sponsoring this event.

Please contact the Vocation Office if you would like copies of the prayer card.

Prayer Card 2007

PRAYER FOR VOCATIONS

 Heavenly Father,

We pray that parents will guide their children

through the sacraments, and raise them

as good Catholics.  Help parents to teach

them the importance of the Mass and

to be supportive if their children are interested

in the priesthood or consecrated life.

Help priests and religious brothers and sisters to

inspire young people to consider religious vocations.

Please help people to recognize when they are

being called to the priesthood or consecrated

life and give them the courage to follow through.

We pray that those called take their vocation

seriously and prayerfully.  Help them to study

the faith hard, and to do the best they can do.

Through the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, help them to be always faithful and to

be good witnesses for Christ.

AMEN
