Ministry Formation

MAC 2017 Header

Mid Atlantic Congress 2017 - Register Now!

Consider applying as an Emerging Leader or Mentor at MAC:

The Church calls us to submerge, before we emerge.  Emerging Catholic Leaders are those who, having been plunged into the mystery of Jesus, are rising up and answering the call to be leaders in faith, worship and witness.  They are living out their baptismal call to holiness and inviting others to do the same as they seek to serve in a public church ministry with the authorization of the hierarchy of the Church.

Emerging Catholic Leaders lead in a world that Pope Francis says, "stands in great need of witnesses, not so much of teachers but rather of witnesses.  It's not so much about speaking, but rather speaking with our whole lives:  consistency means living Christianity as an encounter with Jesus that brings me to others."

The MAC considers those who are in the process of being formed in ministry for less than three years to be Emerging Catholic Leaders.  As they embrace the Church's mission and serve as agents of the New Evangelization in a new Pentecost, in their commitments to Christ and inspire others to do the same as they fuse ancient tradition with new methods of evangelization.

Our Emerging Catholic Leaders will not flourish without the guidance of a skilled mentor.  This is someone who is willing to say "imitate me as I imitate Christ."  Those called to our mentor program are disciples as well as teachers who embark on spiritual accompaniment of new leaders in the Church.  These mentors will companion new leaders in their dioceses sharing their wisdom and experiences.
