The Cardinal Keeler Trade School in Gonaives, Haiti was inaugurated in February 2008.
The goal of the Trade School is to help Haitians help themselves by providing them an opportuntity to acquire technical skills in various trades. Some trades are:
- Plumbing
- Electricity
- Carpentry
- Auto Mechanic
- Masonry
- Craftsmanship
Additionally, trades that are attractive to women are also taught.
Only five to ten percent of Haitians go to an academic school to learn the arts of law, medicine, etc. The remaining 90 to 95% would learn a trade instead. The Trade School will allow students from Good Samaritan School additional educational opportunities to learn a trade.
