KEYNOTES

English Keynote
"Catholic Evangelization: Enthusiasm and the Person of the Evangelist"
Reverend Edward Miller
This presentation will help us prepare to "Go and Make Disciples" by learning about "the territory we must walk through" as we tell the world about Jesus Christ. Since 1975 Father Miller has served as Pastor of St. Bernardine Parish in Baltimore City, where because of intentional evangelization efforts, the congregation has swelled from 200 to 2000 active members. Fr. Miller is a former faculty member of the Paulist Institute for Evangelization and has presented extensively on the topic of Evangelization and Church growth.

Spanish Keynote
"De los Asientos a los Caminos: La Comunidad Hispana Evangelizadora"
Reverend Juan Puigbo

Father Puigbo is a member of the priestly association of Sacredotes Operarios Diocesanos an organization dedicated to promoting and sustaining priestly, religious, married and layvocations through the love for the eucharist. He has directed many conferences and workshops about layleadership, Hispanic, pastoral, youth and young adult ministry. He taught in Diaconate Program and directed the Hispanic Pastoral Affairs for the Archdiocese of Washington. In April 2007, Father Puigbo was named the Director of the Sol Vocational Institute, a ministry of Diocesan Laborers Priests, in Washington, DC.

.

"The Church exists to give itself away in witnessing to the power of God’s love in Christ: to witness to the truth, that the fullness of life comes only through friendship with Jesus Christ. The Church exists to call those who have never met Christ to experience the power of his love, to know the grace of conversion."
Archbishop Edwin F. O'Brien—Evening Prayer, September 2007
